Screened Class

What is the Screened Class?

MS 343’s Screened Program brings together academically motivated students in a supportive and challenging learning environment. By learning alongside peers who share their drive to succeed, students are encouraged to push one another, think more deeply, and take on new challenges. This environment also allows teachers to move beyond the traditional curriculum, creating opportunities for more rigorous learning, deeper conversations, and higher-level thinking throughout the classroom.

Students are selected for the program based on their 4th-grade report card and enter MS 343 as part of a dedicated cohort.

Opportunities for Screened Students

  • Omnilearn Summer Science Program — Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry
  • Specialized High School Prep (SHSAT) — all three years
  • Lincoln Center — Shakespeare Program
  • College Trips — NYU, Columbia, Fordham, and more
  • Collaborative Activities — with iHeart Radio, NBC, and Situation Interactive
